Dark Bronze Hooks

Originally designed in 1908 the Elephant Hook was Pinxton & Co's first coat hook & still our most popular. They bring a bit of humour into an everyday object- they are whimsical & yet functional & hold a lot of coats!  

Pinxton & Co have used a skilled jeweller to remodel the design, returning the details & depth of carving to allow us to cast these coat hooks as originally intended.

• The Dark Bronze Elephant Hook has been hand coloured & has a lovely aged patina.
• Each coat hook is individually boxed with matching screws & fixings.

Inspired by the Art Deco period, The Rateau Hook is bold & handsome. An original Pinxton & Co design it draws on the designs of Armand- Albert Rateau, in particular a design for a chandelier! 

Armand- Albert Rateau was one of the great designers of the Parisian Art Deco Design world, perhaps his most famous client being the fashion designer Lanvin for whom he worked in the 1920s.

Rateau Hook product specifications

Another discovery by a family member (the coat hook is named after our niece Ludovica) who allowed Pinxton & Co to remodel an American Aesthetic design of the 1880’s. The Aesthetic Period was about pure beauty and 'Art for Arts Sake' in response to the perceived ugliness of the industrial age - we feel that this embodies our ethos perfectly. Perhaps it is no surprise that it is Pinxton & Co's most popular coat hook.

Ludovica Hook product specifications

The Hector Hook is a double coat hook influenced by the flowing, voluptuous curves of the Art Nouveau & is swiftly becoming the new favourite coat hook due to its classic & functional design. Originally the upper pierced element would have held a hat with the lower hook holding the jacket. 

Pinxton & Co have named it after the French designer Hector Guimard, a prodigious designer who explored natural forms & modern materials to create some of the most recognisable designs of the Art Nouveau, including many of the entrance structures of the Paris Metro.

Hector Hook product specifications

The Original Octopus Hook was discovered by Pinxton & Co in a cupboard of a derelict farmhouse in Derbyshire. Caked in decades of slapped on paint we uncovered this beautifully conceived triple coat hook of the late 19th Century. 

It takes its name from an amusing piece of Glaswegian graffiti - 'Angry Octopus wants to fight yeh!

Octopus Hook product specifications

The Jade Hook is Pinxton & Co's own design influenced by the sophisticated neolithic jade carvings of Ancient China. Pinxton & Co have taken a ceremonial Zhang blade as inspiration for our double robe hook. 

Despite its ancient influences it has a very contemporary & playful feel which has led to it being nicknamed the 'Poirot' or 'Moustache' hook!
